We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our dynamic eye care team. Dr.

Eyecare is a patient-focused practice committed to delivering exceptional eye care services in a welcoming and professional environment. Our team is dedicated to improving the vision and overall eye health of our community through personalized care, advanced technology, and compassion. We are a specialty clinic and see a high volume of Myopia patients, Dry Eye Patients and specialty contact lens patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care, excellent organizational skills, and a keen interest in optical health. As an integral part of our practice, the Optometric Assistant will support the Optometrists by managing patient interactions, assisting with examinations, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities

- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and warmth, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Assist Optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and handling necessary equipment.
- Manage electronic medical records efficiently ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and offering guidance on optical products.
- Support front desk operations including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments.




- Maintain optical inventory, including frames, lenses, and supplies, to ensure availability and proper organization.
- Educate patients on optical options, including contact lenses and eyewear selections, aligning recommendations with their needs.
- Uphold hygiene standards and assist in maintaining a clean clinical environment in compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

- Previous experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye health and general healthcare practices.
- Experience with optical products, retail sales, or customer service in an optical or retail setting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of pediatric eye care is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
