Position Overview

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Optometric Assistant with a strong focus on patient pretesting and diagnostic imaging. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment while delivering outstanding patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform patient pretesting and diagnostic workups prior to the doctor examination
- Conduct preliminary case history and accurately document patient information
- Operate diagnostic equipment including OCT, retinal imaging, visual field testing, auto-refraction, and tonometry
- Prepare patients for examinations and explain testing procedures clearly
- Assist doctors during patient flow and maintain efficient clinic operations
- Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Support front desk and administrative duties as needed




- Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system

Qualifications

- Previous experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, or medical clinic preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable learning and operating medical diagnostic equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Medical administration or healthcare experience considered an asset
- College or university graduate preferred
- Must be able to work evenings and Saturdays
