We are seeking compassionate and dedicated PAB professional to provide high-quality support to individuals in a Residence for the elderly. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, or those living with dementia. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, medication management, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and secure environment.
Candidates should be committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve through respectful and personalized care.
Duties
- Assist residents or clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a hygienic environment
- Monitor residents for any changes in health or behavior and report concerns to appropriate medical staff or family members
- Assist with activities that promote physical and mental well-being, including exercises or recreational activities
- Follow all safety protocols and care plans to ensure a safe environment for clients
Skills Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home health caregiving is necessary. Must have CPR/FIRST AID, PDSB and VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN HOME CARE THAT IS RECKOGNIZED IN QUEBEC. CERTIFICATES MUST INCLUDE QUEBEC EDUCATION LOGO ON IT.
- Knowledge of senior care practices and working with individuals with disabilities or dementia
- Ability to administer medications accurately and responsibly
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation efficiently
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed in a caring environment that values professionalism and empathy
