Painter Subcontractor – Residential & Commercial

Job Summary

SMAT Painting Ltd. is looking for a reliable and experienced painter subcontractor to assist with residential and commercial painting projects in Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Work may include interior and exterior painting, repaints, new construction, drywall repairs, preparation work, trim, doors, ceilings, and other related finishing work. The amount of work available will vary depending on project demand, performance, and experience.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, works efficiently, and can produce a clean professional finish with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

- Prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, masking, and cleaning
- Apply paint and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment when required
- Paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and other interior or exterior surfaces
- Complete minor drywall and surface repairs when required
- Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, and surrounding areas
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Follow project specifications and maintain professional workmanship




- Communicate any issues or additional work required before proceeding
- Work independently or alongside other painters depending on the project

Requirements
- Previous professional painting experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to work independently
- Comfortable working from ladders and at different job-site locations
- Ability to perform physical work including lifting, bending, standing, and repetitive movement
- Own basic painting tools preferred
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Experience with spraying, drywall repairs, or commercial painting is considered an asset

Subcontractor Position This is a subcontractor opportunity. Work availability may vary depending on current projects and seasonal demand. Compensation will depend on experience, skill level, productivity, and the scope of work.

Solid performers may receive ongoing work as projects become available.

Pay: $19.65-$32.00 per hour
