Part-Time Bookkeeper

Holland Licensed Interior Design is a female led, family owned interior design firm with offices in Calgary and Edmonton. For more than 15 years, we’ve built our business around great design, strong relationships and a team that genuinely cares about the work we do.

We work across workplace, healthcare, hospitality and multi-family design throughout Alberta. We are creative, ambitious, fast paced and growing — and we’re looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper who is excited to become an important part of that growth.

The Role

Working approximately 16 hours per week from our Calgary studio, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of the business and work closely with our founding partners and Fractional CFO.

Responsibilities include

- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Payroll processing and administration
- Client invoicing and payment tracking
- Proactive follow-up on outstanding receivables
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Expense management and coding
- GST preparation and reporting support
- Month-end bookkeeping
- Maintaining accurate and organized financial records
- Providing regular visibility into receivables, payables, cash requirements and key financial milestones
- Working closely with our Fractional CFO to support reporting, forecasting and financial controls
- Supporting the continued improvement of our financial systems, processes and workflows

Tech Forward + Process Minded Being tech forward is key to success in this role. You should be highly proficient in QuickBooks Online and comfortable working within a modern, cloud-based business environment.

You will be expected to adopt established company standards and be enthusiastic about learning new software and processes that help our leadership team better understand financial performance, project milestones and the health of the business.

Who We’re Looking For

You are organized, accurate and dependable, but equally important, you are proactive and engaged. You notice when something needs attention and take ownership of moving it forward.

You’re comfortable working independently, communicating directly with business owners and being accountable for an important part of the business.

Experience working with professional services firms is a key asset, particularly within architecture, interior design, engineering, consulting or another project-based environment where understanding time, invoicing, project milestones and profitability matters.

Just as importantly, we want someone who is enthusiastic about being part of Holland. While bookkeeping is your primary responsibility, you will be part of our broader team and culture. We want someone who enjoys participating in the studio, takes pride in the company they represent and is comfortable being a positive brand ambassador for Holland with our team, clients and external partners.

Compensation + Schedule

Approximately 16 hours per week, with regular in-office presence in our Calgary studio.

Compensation: $30–$35/hour, based on experience, plus participation in Holland’s employee perks program.

Start Date: Immediate

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
