We are seeking a reliable and organized Part-Time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for participants in our residential addiction recovery program.
This role is responsible for meal preparation, kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and helping create a welcoming and respectful environment around meals.
Duties
- Prepare and cook meals for participants and staff as required.
- Follow planned menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
- Prepare ingredients and assist with basic meal planning.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies are needed.
- Store food properly and help reduce waste.
- Accommodate dietary needs when required.
- Work respectfully and professionally with participants and staff.
- Complete general kitchen cleaning and other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking, food preparation, or food service experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of protected food handling and kitchen sanitation.
- Ability to prepare balanced meals for groups.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Food Safe/Food Handler certification is considered an asset.
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check may be required.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing good food and contributing to a safe, respectful, and supportive recovery environment. Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
