HAVN

Maintenance Technician (Part-Time)

ABOUT HAVN

HAVN is an experience design business. Our medium is hydrotherapy, sauna, cold immersion, rest. Our real product is presence: the feeling of being pulled out of your head and into your body, held by a space that has been designed with intention and care.

When you walk into HAVN, you should be caught up in it, the atmosphere, the warmth, the detail. When you sit in the sauna and then move into the cold pool, you are brought fully into your body. Everything, every design choice, every temperature, every interaction, either adds to that spell or quietly breaks it.

THE ROLE The Maintenance Technician supports the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the facility to HAVN's exceptionally high standards. This is a skilled, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys solving problems, and believes that every repair contributes to the guest experience.

Your work happens almost entirely outside guest operating hours. These overnight shifts are when the facility is empty and the deeper work gets done — sauna wood treatment, deep cleaning, preventive maintenance, repairs, and the occasional pool flip when the system calls for it (directed by the Maintenance Manager).

You will work independently for much of your shift, taking direction from the Maintenance Manager while exercising good judgment, identifying problems, and completing work to a consistently high standard.

SCHEDULE

· Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights, Plus two nights before, or after the weekend

· 10:00pm–1:00am (arrive 10:00pm to set up before we close at 10:30pm, so you're ready to work the moment the last guest leaves).

· Roughly 18 hours/week. Some flexibility for occasional tasks that fall outside these hours.

· Compensation range $30-$40 an hour

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Carry out overnight maintenance and pool care as directed — including occasional pool flips when needed

· Execute preventative maintenance and technical repairs before guest operating hours.

· Perform plumbing repairs including toilets, drains, faucets, valves, and fixtures.

· Repair and adjust doors, locks, hinges, cabinetry, and hardware.

· Stabilize pedestal tiles and complete flooring repairs.

· Install and maintain landscape lighting.

· Complete painting, patching, touch-ups, and finish repairs.

· Pressure wash decking, mats, and exterior surfaces.

· Support wood treatment and preservation.

· Replace lighting, filters, and other building components.

· Maintain tools, materials, inventory, and organized workspaces.

· Identify maintenance concerns and communicate them promptly.

· Problem solve independently while maintaining high quality standards.

· Support seasonal maintenance and special projects.

· Assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the facility to HAVN standards.

REPORTING STRUCTURE The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and works closely with the General Manager and broader operations team to maintain HAVN's facilities and guest experience.

THE TEST WE APPLY TO EVERY CANDIDATE

Would we trust this person to quietly complete important maintenance work before sunrise, solve problems independently, and leave the facility looking better than they found it—every single shift? If the answer isn't an immediate yes, we keep looking.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS

After your first three months at HAVN, you should be able to confidently say:

· I understand how every maintenance task contributes to the guest experience and the overall atmosphere of HAVN.

· I can independently run an overnight maintenance shift — knowing what needs doing, working through it efficiently, and leaving a clear shift report

· I know the facility well enough to identify maintenance issues before they become guest-facing problems.

· I consistently complete repairs with craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in my work.

· I leave every workspace cleaner and more organized than I found it.

· I know where tools, materials, and replacement parts belong, and I help keep our maintenance areas organized and operationally ready.

· I communicate clearly with the Maintenance Manager, proactively identifying issues, asking questions when needed, and following through on commitments.

· I can confidently perform the routine plumbing, carpentry, painting, lighting, and general maintenance tasks required to keep the facility operating smoothly.

· I understand the level of finish and presentation expected at HAVN and complete every repair to that standard.

· I have earned the trust of the Maintenance Manager by being reliable, accountable, and consistently producing high-quality work with minimal supervision.

By the end of your first 90 days, you should not simply know how to maintain the building—you should understand how your work protects the experience our guests come to HAVN to find.

When guests never notice your work, that's often because you've done it exceptionally well.

This role can grow — in hours and responsibility — as HAVN expands.

TO APPLY

Please send us your resume along with your responses to the following questions.

1. Why does a role at HAVN interest you? Tell us what drew you to this opportunity and why you believe you'd be a good fit for our team.
2. What technical maintenance skills do you bring to the table? Please describe the types of maintenance work you have experience with (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, building systems, pool or spa maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, etc.) and the kinds of projects you most enjoy.
3. Describe the best work environment you've been part of. What made it such a great place to work? What did the leadership, culture, and team do well, and how did you contribute to that environment?
4. Describe the worst work setting you've experienced. Without naming the employer, what made it difficult? What did you learn from that experience, and what would you do differently today?

We're looking for thoughtful, genuine responses rather than perfect answers. Your approach, attitude, and craftsmanship matter just as much as your technical abilities. We’re not looking for a cover letter. We are looking for a story. Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
