About Le Petit Écolier

Le Petit Écolier is a growing French language centre offering engaging French programs for children, teenagers and adults. We are looking for a dependable, organized and welcoming Centre Administrator to oversee the centre during scheduled classes and provide on-site support to families and teachers.

This is a hands-on, on-site position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, taking responsibility for the centre during operating hours and responding professionally to parents, students and staff.

Position Overview The Centre Administrator will be responsible for opening, supervising and closing the centre during assigned class times. They will serve as the primary on-site contact for families and teachers while working closely with our Director and remote administrative team.

The schedule will primarily include weekday afternoons or evenings and Saturdays during the school year. Additional daytime hours may occasionally be available for administrative work, special programs, PD Day camps or seasonal activities.

Main Responsibilities

- Open and close the centre independently
- Welcome students and families and assist with arrivals and departures
- Respond to general parent questions and direct more complex matters to management
- Monitor attendance and follow up on unexplained absences when required
- Support teachers with classroom access, materials, printing and basic operational needs
- Ensure classes begin and end smoothly and according to schedule
- Maintain an organized, skilled and welcoming reception area
- Monitor the general condition, cleanliness and security of the premises
- Help manage student transitions between classes
- Communicate promptly with the Director and remote administrative team
- Document incidents, parent concerns and important operational updates
- Assist with registrations, scheduling,



payments and administrative follow-up when assigned
- Provide on-site support during Saturday programs, special events and seasonal camps
- Complete other reasonable administrative and centre-support duties as required

Qualifications
- Previous experience in administration, reception, customer service, education or childcare
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual and able to work independently
- Skilled and confident when communicating with parents
- Comfortable supervising a busy learning environment
- Able to manage several priorities calmly and responsibly
- Strong computer skills, including email, Google Workspace and online administrative systems
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Reliable transportation to our Oakville location

Language Requirements
- Strong spoken and written English is required
- French proficiency is a strong asset

Availability Requirements

Candidates must be available

- At least three weekday afternoons or evenings
- Saturdays during scheduled programming
- For occasional PD Days, special programs or seasonal camps when mutually agreed upon

The exact weekly schedule will be based on the centre’s class schedule and operational needs. Hours may fluctuate according to enrolment and programming.

The Ideal Candidate

You are warm and welcoming with families, but also organized, observant and comfortable enforcing centre procedures. You take ownership of your responsibilities, communicate problems promptly and do not need constant supervision. You understand that reliability is essential when you are responsible for opening and operating a learning centre.
