Position: Pharmacist
Employment Type: Part-Time/Casual
Reports To: Designated Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our growing team. As a regulated health professional in Ontario, the Pharmacist will be responsible for providing safe, effective, and high-quality pharmaceutical care while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, professional standards, and Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) requirements.
Please note: This is a part-time/casual position. While the initial position is part-time/casual, there may be opportunities for additional hours or increased hours in the future, based on operational needs, performance, and organizational growth.
Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, assess, and accurately dispense prescriptions in accordance with applicable legislation and professional standards.
- Assess prescriptions for appropriateness, including drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, therapeutic duplication, dosing, and potential medication-related problems.
- Ensure prescriptions are prepared, packaged, labelled, and dispensed accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee the compounding, packaging, storage, and handling of medications in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
- Provide comprehensive medication counselling and education to patients and caregivers.
- Make appropriate clinical recommendations and communicate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals when required.
- Perform medication reviews and support patients in optimizing their medication therapy.
- Provide exceptional patient service and build positive relationships with patients, caregivers, prescribers, and healthcare providers.
- Administer medications and vaccines and provide other authorized clinical services, as applicable.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medication profiles and clinical documentation.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff in the preparation and processing of prescriptions.
- Work collaboratively with the designated manager and pharmacy team to support safe, efficient, and effective pharmacy operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
- Perform other professional and operational duties within the scope of pharmacy practice as required.
Qualifications
- Licensed and in positive standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, PharmD, or equivalent pharmacy degree recognized for registration in Ontario.
- Eligible to practise as a Pharmacist in Ontario and maintain all required professional registration and certifications.
- Injection Training and current First Aid & CPR/AED Level C certification, or willingness to obtain/maintain certification as required.
- Excellent knowledge of prescription medications, therapeutics, drug interactions, and safe medication practices.
- Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to patient-centred care.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software and electronic pharmacy systems, such as Kroll, HealthWATCH, Fillware, or equivalent systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, patient safety, and continuous learning.

Pay: $55.00-$60.00 per hour
