The Freebird Market is looking for a full time Pastry Cook to join our production kitchen in Etobicoke.

We are looking for someone with hands-on pastry experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This role will focus on preparing a variety of sweet and seasonal items while maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation.

Responsibilities

- Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods from scratch
- Produce cookies, bars, cakes, tarts, and other sweet items
- Prepare batters, doughs, fillings, creams, icings, and other pastry components
- Assist with seasonal and specialty menu items
- Follow recipes and production quantities accurately
- Portion, assemble, finish, and decorate products consistently
- Complete daily prep and production lists efficiently
- Maintain quality and presentation across large production batches
- Properly label, store, rotate, and organize ingredients and finished products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workstation




- Work closely with the kitchen and bakery teams to meet daily production requirements

What We're Looking For
- Previous professional pastry or baking experience
- Comfortable working with a variety of pastry techniques and products
- Experience in a production kitchen, bakery, restaurant, or similar high-volume environment is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Able to follow recipes accurately and work independently
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and lifting as required
- Reliable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude
- Full-time availability is required
- Evening and weekend availability is required
