This position, reporting to the Director of Engineering, involves overseeing NWMO’s technical research programs related to the Deep Geological Repository (DGR). You will coordinate with various stakeholders and foster partnerships with universities and research bodies, ensuring NWMO's strategies align with safety and environmental standards while promoting R&D; excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure robust safety culture across NWMO’s operations
• Manage and coordinate technical research programs and governance
• Chair the Technical Review Committee and report on R&D; metrics
• Engage in national and international joint R&D; initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with academic and research organizations
Requirements:
• Proven leadership in research and collaboration
• Familiarity with nuclear waste management concepts and regulations
• Solid ability to drive multidisciplinary collaborative efforts
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
