THE POSITION:
As a Customer Services Assistant 2 you will provide exceptional customer service, deliver library and literacy programs, The Playground™ , events, tours and group presentations within the library, in the community and virtually in consultation with Librarian 3, 2, or 1, Library Supervisor 4 or 2.

- Demonstrated proficiency in readers’ advisory, reference search strategy, and reference interview techniques
- Demonstrated ability and skills to plan, organize, promote and deliver a variety of creative programs, including The Playground™ , within minimum supervision, to all ages and abilities. This can be done either in library, in the community, or virtually.
- A solid work ethic and self-motivation
- Knowledge of automated library systems
- A curiosity and ability to work with and learn new technologies, including a variety of technologies (e-readers, tablets, etc.)
- A goal to strive for excellence
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office plus excellent keyboarding skills
- Eagerness to grow your skills, learn and explore
- Accurate keyboarding skills of 45 wpm.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma in Library and Information Technology from a recognized institution
- Up to six months work related and on the job customer service experience
- Ability and skill to plan, organize and deliver a variety of children, teen, adult and literacy programs
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Candidate should be prepared for a busy schedule of programming and outreach
- Valid B. C. Drivers license (minimum level ‘N’) is an asset
