Position Overview The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides compassionate, respectful, and client-focused support to seniors and individuals living with disabilities or requiring assistance with daily activities.

Duties and responsibilities will vary depending on each client's individual needs, preferences, abilities, care plan, and level of independence. PSWs are expected to provide support in a way that promotes dignity, safety, independence, and quality of life.

Depending on the client's specific needs, responsibilities may include:

- Providing companionship and social support
- Assisting with activities of daily living
- Supporting personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assisting with mobility, transfers, and positioning
- Preparing meals and assisting with feeding, where required
- Providing medication reminders, where appropriate and within the scope of the role
- Assisting with light housekeeping and household tasks related to the client's care
- Accompanying clients to appointments, errands, or community activities
- Supporting clients with maintaining routines and participating in activities
- Providing respite and support to family caregivers
- Observing and reporting changes in the client's condition or needs
- Following individualized care plans and client-specific instructions
- Maintaining a protected, clean, and comfortable environment




- Communicating respectfully with clients, families, and other care providers
- Maintaining client privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and professional boundaries

Please note: Duties are not limited to the examples above and will be determined based on the individual client's needs and the services agreed upon. PSWs are only expected to perform duties that fall within their training, qualifications, and applicable scope of practice.

Qualifications

- PSW certification or relevant training/experience, as applicable to the position
- Experience supporting seniors or individuals with disabilities is an asset
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow client-specific care instructions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Reliable transportation may be required depending on client needs and location
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is an asset

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
