Position Summary

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dependable female Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support a client in Grande Prairie.

This position requires a female Personal Support Worker due to the nature of the client's personal care needs and privacy requirements. This is a bona fide occupational requirement of the position.

The current schedule is Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, preferably from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, for approximately 6 hours per week. There is potential for up to 50 hours per month as additional support is required.

The client requires respite and hands-on personal care support.

Formal caregiver training is an asset but not required. Applicants with relevant caregiving, personal care, home support, senior support, or similar experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Personal care, including bathing, toileting and personal hygiene
- Grooming and dressing assistance
- Mobility, transferring and ambulation assistance
- Fall prevention and safety monitoring
- Respite and companionship
- Medication reminders within Spectrum's scope of practice
- Meal planning and preparation




- Light household support
- Supporting independence and established daily routines
- Completing accurate and timely progress notes
- Following the client's care plan and communicating changes or concerns to Spectrum management

The client uses a walker and wheelchair and has experienced falls, making safe mobility assistance and fall prevention important components of the role. Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous caregiving, home support, personal care, senior care, or similar experience considered an asset
- Comfortable providing hands-on personal care
- Experience with mobility assistance and fall prevention considered an asset
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- WHMIS 2018 certification
- Food Safe Level 1
- Legally entitled to work in Canada — Spectrum does not provide sponsorship
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Must be fragrance-free (no scented products, sprays, detergents, etc.)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and skilled boundaries
