These include:Competitive salary starting from $4,337 - $6,413/month for new recruits who join the Regular Force under the Direct Entry planNew pay increases: earn more from the startRecruiting allowance of up to $50,000 paid in installments at key service milestonesTraining opportunitiesVacation, parental, and other types of paid leaveHealth, dental, and vision coverageCounseling, and relocation support servicesPension planStimulating workplace that promotes respect, belonging, and work-life balanceOverviewThe primary responsibilities of the Aerospace Telecommunications and Information Systems Technician are:Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on all types of radio, radar and data processing, cryptographic, terminal, audio and video equipmentPerforming inspections, performance tests and adjustments on strategic and tactical fixed and mobile telecommunications equipmentPerforming repairs, overhaul and support maintenance on telecommunications equipmentPerforming installations and acceptance testsDeploying as part of the Air Force Support Capability, 8 Air Communications and Control Squadron, a Tactical Control Radar squadron,
the Canadian Forces Joint Signals Regiment or all CANSOFCOM UnitsYou will find a comprehensive list of the primary duties on the forces.Ca website.This position is similar to the following:Electronic Engineering Technician or TechnologistElectronic Service TechnicianRadio Communications Equipment RepairerTelecommunications Equipment InstallerTo be eligible to apply to the CAF, you must:Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada; Be at least 18 years old (17 years old with parental consent), except:For the Paid Education programs, you may be 16 years old (with parental consent); For the Primary Reserve, you may be 16 years old (with parental consent) and must be enrolled as a full-time student; Have completed atleast Grade 10 or Secondary IV in Québec (some jobs need higher levels of education).Required EducationThe minimum required education to apply for this position is the completion of the provincial requirements for Grade 10 or Secondary IV in Quebec, including:Grade 10 Applied Math (Mathématiques 416 or Cultural, Social and Technical 4)Foreign education may be accepted.Direct Entry PlanIdeal candidates will already have a diploma. If you have a university or college diploma, the CAF will decide if your academic program matches the criteria for this job and may place you directly into any on-the-job training program that is required, following Basic Training.
