Registered Pharmacist – Part-Time

Kiwi Pharmacy & Wellness | Kelowna, BC

$60–$65/hour + Professional Services Commission

Interested in pharmacy beyond traditional dispensing?

Kiwi Pharmacy & Wellness is looking for a part-time pharmacist to join our team in Kelowna.

We are an independent community and compounding pharmacy with a focus on personalized care, wellness, preventative health and functional/integrative medicine. Our practice combines traditional community pharmacy with compounding, expanded-scope pharmacist services, evidence-informed natural health products, and collaboration with physicians, naturopathic doctors and nurse practitioners.

We’re looking for a strong community pharmacist who enjoys patient relationships, values professional autonomy, and is interested in broadening their practice beyond a conventional dispensing environment.

This is a permanent part-time position of approximately 2–3 days per week.

Why Kiwi?

Kiwi offers the opportunity to practise community pharmacy a little differently.

- Broader clinical exposure: develop experience in functional and integrative medicine, preventative health, compounding and expanded-scope pharmacy.
- Multidisciplinary collaboration: work with physicians, naturopathic doctors, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals.
- Meaningful patient relationships: spend time understanding patients’ medications, health goals and broader treatment plans.
- Compounding: gain exposure to individualized medication therapy without being expected to prepare compounds yourself.
- Wellness: provide thoughtful, evidence-informed guidance on high-quality supplements and natural health products.
- Professional autonomy: work in a smaller independent pharmacy where your clinical judgment and ideas matter.
- No corporate quotas: our focus is on providing a thoughtful, personalized pharmacy experience.

Some familiarity or comfort with compounded medications is important, but extensive compounding experience is not required. Our experienced team handles much of the prescription data entry and compound preparation, allowing the pharmacist to focus on clinical assessment, appropriateness, and counselling .We are also continuing to strengthen our team, including plans to add Registered Pharmacy Technician coverage.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with compounding and interested in developing their knowledge, not someone who needs to arrive as an expert.

Responsibilities include:

- Prescription assessment, dispensing and patient counselling
- Clinical assessment and oversight of compounded prescriptions
- Minor Ailments and Contraception Services (MACS)
- Prescription adaptations and other expanded-scope services
- Medication reviews and other patient-focused skilled services
- Immunizations and injections, as applicable
- Building strong, ongoing relationships with patients
- Collaborating with physicians, naturopathic doctors, nurse practitioners and other healthcare providers
- Providing evidence-informed guidance on supplements and natural health products
- Maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
- Contributing ideas to the continued development of Kiwi’s clinical and wellness services
