: Reporting to the Manager, the Physical Therapist – Degree - Senior will act as the clinical leader for the Saskatchewan Spine Pathway and Saskatchewan Spine Pathway Clinic. The incumbent will provide support and direction to the physical therapist(s) - degree as necessary, as well as participating in the assessment, treatment, education and evaluation for Spinal Patients.
The Physical
Therapist – Degree - Senior will work closely and collaboratively with the referring Primary Care Practitioner and Spine Surgeons to ensure continuity and high-quality care.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience
- Two (2) years experience in assessment and treatment of Spinal Patients
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy
Other Education and Training
- Level 3 Cert. in Advances Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy
- Current CPR Level C

Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to employ biopsychosocial approach in provisional care to patients
- Flexible and adaptive approach to treatment of complex spinal patients
- Good working knowledge of the continuum of Spinal Care
- Knowledge and understanding of the Four Patterns of Low Back Pain
- Ability to plan, organize/coordinate efforts with other team members
- ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, families.
- Knowledge of community resources
- Requires coping skills to work w/clients dealing with stress/psychosocial issues
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as required
- Ability to integrate ideas into a team treatment approach
