Overview

Our family medicine practice in St. Thomas, Ontario is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will work directly alongside an experienced family physician.

Your primary focus will be managing patients with diabetes which will occupy approximately 50% of your time. You will also have the opportunity to conduct other primary care presentations for the balance of your day. This an excellent opportunity for a PA looking for a manageable, patient-focused role in a collaborative clinic setting, supported by an experienced physician with an opportunity to learn and grow in areas where you have particular interest.

Responsibilities

- Conduct regular diabetes management visits with diabetic patients, including monitoring blood glucose control, adjusting care plans, and providing patient education
- Support additional family medicine visits as needed
- Review lab results and follow up with patients accordingly
- Renew prescriptions in accordance with clinic protocols and physician oversight
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the clinic's EMR system




- Collaborate closely with the supervising physician and clinic staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care

Experience

- Registered in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Physician Assistant
- Demonstrated experience managing patients with diabetes is essential
- Experience with the Accuro EMR system is an asset
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent rapport with patients

We seek an energetic professional eager to grow within a collaborative team dedicated to excellence in healthcare delivery. There is an opportunity over time for this position to grow into a full time position, if desired, working with other physicians within our group. Pay: $48.00-$58.00 per hour
