Our client employer in Kitchener-Waterloo is looking for a Plant Engineer to manage plant operations and all maintenance activities! As the Plant Engineer, you will ensure that the manufacturing process is streamlined and efficient and that all equipment is in peak working order to prevent loss of time and profitability! You will be the recipient of a solid compensation package including salary between $110,000-115,000 per year and full benefits program!

Requirements - Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in manufacturing or assembly processes in fast pacedenvironment
- Working knowledge of manufacturing / mechanical processes and equipment
- Experience designing, operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining complex production machinery is desirable
- Experience coordinating the design, building and implementation of capital equipment
- Knowledge of computer or PLC based machine control systems is desirable
- CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices
- Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the
- Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
- Good mechanical / technical skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Possess excellent leadership & teamwork abilities and organizational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills Duties and Responsibilities - Evaluates manufacturing processes; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
- Purchase and manage new capital manufacturing equipment implementation, budget and timelines.
- Conduct and audit time studies/standardized work for productivity.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; meeting internal and external customer requirements; conferring with vendors.
- Execute LEAN manufacturing techniques and design.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
- Design new plant layout using AutoCAD.
- Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as performance quotas.
- Communicate company philosophy, vision and expectations.
- Assure product and process quality by establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes.
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; estimate costs, production times, or staffing requirements for new designs.
- Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine and record business improvement areas.
- Prepares product and process reports by analyzing and summarizing information.
- Generating and modifying plant layout /assembly drawings using AutoCAD
- Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technical team.
