Join Extendicare as a part time Resident Programs Aide at our Sherwood Court location in Maple, ON. This key role involves developing engaging activities for residents, ensuring their comfort and safety.
As a member of the recreation team, you will assume responsibility for all activation programs tailored to individual and group needs. You will facilitate meaningful engagement by setting up activities, monitoring residents' behavior, and collaborating with nursing staff on any significant changes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement activation programs for residents
• Prepare and clean activity areas for programs
• Safely transport residents to scheduled activities
• Monitor resident conditions and report to supervisors
• Keep program and resident documentation up to date
Requirements:
• Certification in Recreation and Leisure Services or Gerontology
• Proven experience working with cognitively impaired elderly
• Ability to secure a current Vulnerable Sector Check
• Expertise in care planning and assessments
• Commitment to improving residents' quality of life
