We help companies manage and access the world’s spatial data. BigGeo is defining a new category of infrastructure that makes real-world data usable at scale. Spatial data powers decisions across logistics, climate, infrastructure, energy, cities, and AI systems, yet it remains fragmented and difficult to operate in real time.
The Spatial
Cloud provides a unified architecture that allows spatial data to be managed, accessed, computed, and delivered instantly across organizations and systems. By turning spatial data into a high-performance operational layer, BigGeo enables people, systems, and AI to act on real-world intelligence together. Our platform exists to remove the complexity that historically made spatial data slow, difficult, and expert-dependent.
Joining
BigGeo means contributing to technology that is shaping a new category as it takes form. The team BigGeo team is AI-enabled, cross-functional, and highly team-oriented. We value ownership, clarity, and leveraging AI tools to build incredible momentum.
Contribute to systems that influence how spatial data is managed and applied Leverage cutting edge AI tools so that your work shows up in real, high-impact use cases Work in an environment where autonomy is trusted, results matter, and AI tools are harnessed to boost creativity, output, and results If you want to do work with real-world impact and help build foundational technology that changes how organizations understand and use spatial intelligence, BigGeo is the place to build that future. BigGeo is looking for a Platform Engineer to build and operate the core infrastructure that powers the Spatial Cloud. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining the platform systems that allow spatial data to be ingested, processed,
and delivered reliably at scale.
Platform
Engineers ensure that the Spatial Cloud operates as durable, high-performance infrastructure capable of supporting real-world decision systems. You will work closely with engineering, data, and product teams to ensure the platform remains reliable, scalable, and developer-friendly while supporting increasingly large spatial datasets and high-volume workloads.
Platform
Engineers play a critical role in turning BigGeo’s architecture into production-grade infrastructure. As a Platform Engineer, you will build and operate the systems that enable the Spatial Cloud to run reliably and scale globally. Spatial data processing pipelines and services High-performance APIs and platform services Infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines Your work ensures that the Spatial Cloud remains stable, performant, and accessible to teams building spatial intelligence applications.
Build distributed services that manage spatial data and compute workloads Ensure platform systems remain performant under large-scale data workloads Implement monitoring, logging,
and observability systems Developer Platform Build internal tools and platform services that improve engineering productivity Support APIs and infrastructure used by product and data teams Performance Optimization Improve performance of distributed services and spatial data processing systems Implement infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment workflows AI-Enabled Development Use modern AI development tools to accelerate debugging, system analysis, and development Contribute to engineering workflows that incorporate AI-assisted productivity Platform engineering at BigGeo involves building modern, cloud-native infrastructure capable of processing large spatial datasets. Cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, GCP, or equivalent) High-performance data systems and storage platforms Infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment pipelines Observability, monitoring, and logging systems AI-assisted development tools 3–7 years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or backend systems ~ Experience building or operating distributed systems in production ~ Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for backend systems ~ Experience building reliable systems with monitoring and observability practices ~ Experience working with geospatial or spatial data systems Experience with high-performance data pipelines or real-time compute systems Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks Experience supporting developer platforms or infrastructure tools Engineers collaborate closely across platform, data, and product teams to design systems that support real-world spatial intelligence applications. High autonomy and technical ownership Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and data teams Continuous learning and use of AI tools to improve productivity The systems you help build will become foundational infrastructure for how organizations understand and act on the real world. #
