Summary:

The Pools Operator Assistant works alongside the Pool Operator Technician to oversee the mechanical operations of the Public pools complex and the pool facilities at the Fairmont Hot Springs Lodge, as well as the recreation centre pool at our timeshare location. Ensuring standards of mechanical maintenance are complete and up to date with all Pool Operation Guidelines

Pay for this position is $23 per hour.

Essential Functions:

- Ensure that the Pool Mechanical Operations are to Provincial Regulations and Standards
- Maintaining and monitoring the resort’s different pools.
- Maintaining and regulating the pool facility chlorine levels and system
- Making sure water samples meet the health board recommendations and standards.
- Maintaining chlorine supply levels and maintenance of injectors and lines.

- Care of SCBA
- Ordering cleaning and facility supplies
- By yearly cleaning, or as required of the hot springs, to remove excessive sand and silt out
- Checking weekly conditions of the springs and taking by monthly water temperatures




- Ensuring proper pool temperatures by water flow rates
- Mechanical Maintenance of pools and yearly organizing of pool painting

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

- Minimum three years experience in the field.

- Pool Operator Certificate
- Transportation of Dangerous goods.
- W.H.I.M.I.S.
- Confined Space Certificate.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage concurrent deliverables and work effectively & independently in a milestone-driven workplace
- Excellent oral & written communication and interpersonal skills. Polished and professional demeanor and appearance
- Computer Skills - Demonstrated ability with regard to computer skills, including a high level of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

Working Conditions: Ability to work different hours through out the day and evenings. This position could be called in to deal with mechanical issues when required.
