About Dixonville Rural Academy
Dixonville Rural Academy (DRA) is an Alberta public charter school serving Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in Dixonville, Alberta. DRA delivers an innovative, vocation-based educational program inspired by agricultural literacy, project-based learning, rural leadership development, skilled trades exposure, and community partnership. The school is guided by a strong commitment to experiential learning, student well-being, and meaningful connections to rural culture and industry.
Position Overview
At Dixonville Rural Academy, the successful candidate will provide strong instructional leadership by guiding the implementation of the school's educational program and agriculture- focused learning framework while fostering a collaborative and creative staff culture. The role includes classroom instruction, where the individual will teach and deliver high-quality, student- centred learning aligned with the Alberta Programs of Study.
They will also oversee daily school operations, support and supervise staff, and ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment. A key focus will be on promoting student success by supporting diverse learning needs and maintaining high expectations for achievement and well-being. Additionally,
the role involves building meaningful relationships with families and the community while ensuring all administrative and compliance requirements are met in alignment with Alberta Education and the school's charter.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting, with the ability to support teachers and foster a positive, collaborative school culture.
- Strong commitment to teamwork, along with excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in small schools or multi-grade classroom environments is considered an asset.
- A clear commitment to agriculture literacy and alignment with the school's agriculture- focused and community-centered philosophy.
