Role Description The Print Shop Designer/Production Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB. This position involves creating and preparing print-ready designs for a variety of products, including business stationery, marketing materials, signage, and specialty items.
Day-to-day responsibilities include working with customers to refine design concepts, setting up files for print, operating digital and wide-format printers, and assisting with bindery and finishing tasks.
The role also includes maintaining production quality standards, managing deadlines, organizing materials, and collaborating with team members across both design and production activities. The successful candidate will support a fast-paced print environment, ensuring accurate output and consistent brand presentation for clients.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Print Design and Graphics for a range of materials and formats.
- Proficiency in Graphic Design and Branding to develop and refine client visual identities.
- Experience working with print applications is an asset.
- Familiarity with industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and print workflows.
- Attention to detail, color accuracy, and layout consistency in a production setting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Comfort with operating print and finishing equipment; willingness to learn current machinery.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with a collaborative team approach.
- Previous experience in a print shop or design/production environment preferred.
