A Production/Manufacturing Wood Framer will be responsible for the production and assembly of prefabricated wood framing components in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in wood framing, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work setting. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Assemble Prefabricated Components: Build prefabricated wood framing components (such as walls, floors, and roof sections) in a controlled factory environment according to design specifications.
2. Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation to ensure accurate assembly.
3. Operate Machinery: Use automated and manual machinery, such as saws, nail guns, and presses, to cut, shape, and assemble wood components.
4. Quality Assurance: Inspect assembled components for defects or inconsistencies, ensuring all pieces meet production and quality standards.
5. Follow Production Schedules: Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
6. Material Handling: Measure, cut, and handle wood materials efficiently to minimize waste during the assembly process.
7. Maintain Equipment and Workspace: Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of tools, machinery, and workstations to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
8. Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with production team members,
supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
9. Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of machinery.
10. Troubleshoot and Problem-Solve: Address and resolve issues that arise during the manufacturing process to ensure seamless production.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: 1–3 years of experience in wood framing, carpentry, or prefabricated construction, preferably in a factory or manufacturing environment.
2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
3. Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and automated machinery used in wood framing or manufacturing.
4. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to quality and precision during the assembly process.
5. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as bending, lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and operating machinery.
6. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and adapt to challenges in a fast-paced production environment.
7. Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety standards and practices.
8. Teamwork Skills: Collaborative mindset to work effectively as part of a production team.
