Role Overview:
We are seeking a Production Operator to become a key player within our dynamic, diverse, and forward-thinking manufacturing team.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday, August to September.
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
- Teamwork: Work in a team environment to operate, maintain, and improve plant operations.
What We Are Looking For
- Language: Fluent in verbal and written English.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Math: Basic proficiency in mathematics (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing).
- Computers: Basic proficiency in using computers.
- Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to build strong relationships across the team and with leadership.
- Learning: A strong willingness to learn.
Experience & Requirements
- Experience: Strong background in mechanical equipment maintenance or assembly.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility.
- Safety Training: WHMIS certification
- Abilities: Ability to work independently on assigned duties.
- Physical Ability: Capability to handle heavy lifting (minimum of 25kg) and physical labour daily.
- Background Check: Must pass a standard police background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Equipment: A valid forklift license is highly preferred (prior forklift experience is required).
- Education: A background as a mechanical technician or maintenance specialist.
- Decommissioning: Disassemble mechanical equipment and safely clean up the warehouse space.
- Installation Support: Assist contract electrical and mechanical engineers with assembling recent equipment.
- Chemical Safety: Clean and prepare machinery using proper chemical handling procedures.
- Facility Maintenance: Work with valves, piping, and mechanical components under engineering direction.
- Quality Control: Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards before distribution to customers.
- Logistics: Handle shipping, receiving, and warehousing duties.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Safety: Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures.
- Flexibility: Perform other positions, duties, and responsibilities assigned from time to time, consistent with your qualifications and experience.
