Join the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor in African and/or Caribbean Francophone Literature, starting July 1, 2027. This role focuses on research and teaching excellence in an inclusive environment.
We are looking for candidates with a PhD in Francophone Literature or a related field, coupled with a track record of research accomplishments and effective teaching practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute innovative, independent research initiatives
- Build an outstanding, competitive research program
- Engage in teaching and supervising graduate students
- Collaborate with Centers for African and Caribbean Studies
- Contribute to service within the Department of French
Requirements:
- PhD or similar by the appointment date
- Solid publication record in relevant journals
- Proven teaching experience and accomplishments
- Near-native fluency in French and proficiency in English
- Positive references highlighting research and teaching
