About The Cold Lake Community Learning Centre (CLCLC) is dedicated to empowering adult learners by providing essential services in basic literacy, numeracy, computer skills, and English as a Second Language (ESL). Our diverse clientele brings a wealth of perspectives, and we pride ourselves on maintaining an open-minded, non-judgmental environment where every individual is supported in their learning journey.

- Participate in a performance evaluation after the initial three-month period and annually thereafter.
Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Program Leadership:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for learner inquiries, providing prompt and supportive guidance via telephone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Conduct thorough educational needs assessments to tailor support for each individual learner.
- Facilitate strategic learner-tutor pairings and coordinate introductory meetings, demonstrating flexibility to accommodate participants' schedules.
- Spearhead the recruitment, comprehensive training, and meaningful recognition of our volunteer tutor community.
- Curate educational materials and maintain proactive follow-up to ensure ongoing success for both learners and tutors.
- Manage and meticulously update the program database to accurately track participant progress and service hours.
1. Administrative Excellence & Operations:
- Oversee daily communications, ensuring all general inquiries are handled with professionalism and efficiency.
- Maintain organizational integrity through precise correspondence management, filing systems, and data entry.
- Contribute actively to staff meetings and engage in continuous professional development to enhance service delivery.
- Represent the CLCLC with distinction at community events and professional forums as required.
- Manage the Centre’s social media presence and maintain the website to effectively promote programs and engage with the community.
1. Program Planning & Development
- Assist in the research and design of new program or service offerings to meet community needs and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs through feedback and data analysis.
- Provide direct instruction and active facilitation for designated CLCLC programs, courses, and workshops, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accessible,
and engaging educational content to adult learners.
Working Conditions
- Occasional evening and weekend work involved
- Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer or during meetings.
- Manual Dexterity: Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects and use computer equipment.
- Visual and Auditory Demands: Ability to read, write, and use a computer for extended periods. Good hearing and vision are necessary to communicate effectively and oversee administrative tasks.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds, such as office supplies or documents.
- Standing and Walking: Occasionally required to stand or walk during meetings, events, or when performing certain office tasks.
- Bending and Stooping: Occasionally required to bend or stoop to access files, set up office equipment, or manage supplies.
Skills & Qualifications
1. Skills and experience:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong computer skills
- Respectful of other ethnicities, cultures and religions
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in role
1. Qualifications:
- Completion of grade 12, post-secondary considered an asset
- Experience working in a learning environment or with Newcomers considered an asset
- Provide a current Criminal Record Check
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
