BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager – Plastic Moulds, this position is responsible for:
Leading the main build plan and coordinating assigned activities associated with the building and refurbishing of moulds, in coordination with the Operations Manager and Scheduling Coordinator.
General account service support as it relates to reporting on progress and insuring quality, cost effectiveness and timeliness of delivery.
All customer related issues such as
· Off-site and Kick-offs meetings
· Quotes
· Estimating new and change work
· Tryouts, supply timelines, reporting on WIP
Educational Requirements: Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
Must possess: strong leadership skills; diplomacy; excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to plan and provide timelines, co-ordinate, negotiating skills; analytical ability; and the ability to work as a member of "team management".
Must be capable of reading and interpreting GD&T;, blueprints, drawings, etc. Experience with MS Office, MS Timeline, Catia v5, Unigraphics, SolidWorks and Outlook is essential. Must be able to travel globally and speak comfortably in a group setting.
JOB DUTIES
1. Interprets and understands customer standards - ensures all Company and Customer standards are met.
2. Plans and co-ordinates the building and refurbishing of moulds,
within the various departments to customer specification and design.
3. Works in conjunction with Scheduler to initiate or revise the build plan and schedule as/when necessary on the Epicor Computer System.
4. Holds standard meetings as outlined in company procedures with appropriate management to define the approach, expectations, budget and timing required for manufacturing.
5. Establishes and communicates assigned Milestones on each project.
6. Reports on W.I.P. (Work in Progress) on a monthly basis in the Epicor (data management software).
7. Arranges for job tryouts and completes all documentation pertaining to such...
8. Identifies and ensures successful completion of all Milestones on each project.
- Determines tool priority as it may relate to the schedule and assigned customers.
- Monitors job for overruns.
1. Quotes all changes in activity on projects under direction.
2. Assist in the quoting of new builds and projects associated with assigned customers.
3. Consults with Sales, Design, and other departments as necessary with respect to modifications, or problems encountered with job design and customer delivery.
4. Other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
