The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Manager, Quality plays a pivotal role in advancing Wellspring Alberta’s mission to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.

The Program Manager, Quality is responsible for program excellence, quality assurance, and contracted Program Leader development across Wellspring Alberta’s provincial program portfolio. This role ensures that all programs reflect Wellspring Alberta’s evidence-informed philosophy, quality standards, accessibility commitments, and member-centred approach.

The Program Quality Manager serves as the primary organizational resource for program quality, supporting continuous learning and ensuring excellence across more than 70 programs delivered by more than 150 Program Leaders throughout Alberta.

This is a full-time position, based in Calgary or Edmonton at one of our houses. Occasional travel to communities across Alberta may be required. Occasional evening and weekend work may also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Quality & Continuous Improvement:

- Lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of Wellspring Alberta’s program quality assurance framework.
- Monitor the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of all programs delivered across the province.
- Review evaluation findings, member feedback, and outcome reports to identify opportunities for program improvement.
- Lead regular program reviews to ensure programs remain evidence-informed, current, accessible, and responsive to evolving member needs.
- Recommend program enhancements, redesigns, or retirements based on evaluation findings and emerging evidence.
- Ensure program manuals, facilitation resources, and supporting materials remain current, standardized, and aligned with organizational standards.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen accessibility and inclusivity across the program portfolio.

Program Leader Excellence:

- Serve as the primary relationship manager for Wellspring Alberta’s Program Leader community.
- Provide oversight and leadership for the full Program Leader lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, engagement, feedback, development, succession planning, recognition, and offboarding.
- Foster strong relationships with Program Leaders across the province,



promoting engagement, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Program Leader Community of Practice.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to Program Leaders using evaluation findings, observations, and member feedback.
- Develop succession planning strategies to ensure a sustainable and diverse Program Leader community.
- Coordinate Program Leader recognition and appreciation initiatives.

Collaboration & Organizational Support:

- Work closely with the Program Manager, Operations, to ensure operational delivery aligns with quality expectations.
- Partner with the Data Impact Manager, who leads organizational evaluation, measurement, and reporting processes, to utilize evaluation findings, member feedback, and outcome reports to identify opportunities for program improvement.
- Collaborate with Centre Managers and the Outreach Manager to support consistent program quality across all delivery settings.
- Contribute program expertise to grant applications, stewardship reports, donor meetings, and organizational communications.
- Support organization-wide quality review processes, including the system performance review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of philanthropy by communicating the impact and value of Wellspring Alberta’s programs.

Organizational Alignment:

- Champion program quality, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout Wellspring Alberta’s program portfolio.
- Promote equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and cultural responsiveness within program design and delivery.
- Act as an ambassador for Wellspring Alberta’s mission that no one has to face cancer alone.
- Contribute to a healthy, respectful, collaborative, and learning-oriented workplace culture.

Qualifications:

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, health sciences, psychology, human services, adult education, quality improvement or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree considered an asset.

Experience

- Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in program development, quality improvement, adult education, cancer/health care, community services, or the nonprofit sector.
- Experience in quality assurance, continuous improvement, and evidence-informed program development.
- Experience recruiting, supporting, or mentoring facilitators, educators, or contracted professionals.
- Experience working with evidence-informed program design and evaluation.
- Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.




- Experience in psychosocial oncology or supportive care is considered an asset.
