Lead the development and maintenance of project controls processes, including scope, schedule, estimate, procurement, and contracting alignment for assigned projects. Oversee the establishment of project coding structures in collaboration with estimating and planning teams, and convert approved estimates into the control budget.
Manage and maintain project data within the cost control database and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of control information. Establish, implement, and administer project change control procedures to ensure all changes are properly identified, documented, evaluated, and incorporated into project forecasts and reporting. Consolidate and analyze commitments, actual costs, forecasts, and change data provided by procurement, construction, planning, engineering, and estimating teams to produce accurate project cost reports and forecasts.
Review and validate progress data from engineering teams and evaluate engineering progress reports for accuracy and completeness.
Prepare detailed project summary reports and coordinate closely with billing specialists to support monthly invoicing and related financial reporting. Develop and present clear, concise cost reports, dashboards, and graphs, and prepare cash flow reports as directed by the Project Controls Manager. and provide actionable recommendations to project management.
Prepare resource projections, revenue forecasts, audit support reports, cash flow summaries, and utilization reports for Division Management, as directed by the Manager of Project Controls. Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical oversight to junior project controls staff as required. Perform additional cost control, forecasting, reporting, and project controls functions as assigned by the Project Controls Manager.
Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in project controls or cost control within the engineering, construction, or related project-driven environment. Demonstrated experience leading cost control, forecasting, reporting, and change management functions on complex projects. Advanced proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, MS Access, Excel, and Word.
Strong knowledge of computerized project management, cost control, and financial reporting systems. Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence project and division-level decision-making.
Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, planning, and finance. Ability to sit or stand as required and remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the workday. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, including continuous operation of a computer and other standard office equipment such as calculators, copiers,
and printers.
Work Workplace / Environmental Factors The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting. Periodic travel may be required and could involve limited exposure to extreme temperatures. Travel may include air travel, during which the employee may be required to remain seated for extended periods.
