Join Caltech as a Construction Project Manager and contribute to a wide range of exciting and impactful projects! As a Construction Project Manager, you will oversee the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and final completion of construction surveying projects, ensuring strict compliance with all relevant laws, standards, legislation, and regulations.
What You’ll Do
- Plan, schedule, and manage project timelines, resource allocation, and project tasks.
- Oversee the creation of client deliverables and contribute to the development of methodologies and procedures for conducting various types of surveys.
- Ensure that appropriate margins are maintained, project by project and client by client.
- Review survey plans for completeness & accuracy using Caltech & industry standards of practice, including applicable provincial land surveying Acts, Manual of Standard Practice & industry licensing requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients.
- Attend client meetings to understand their needs, present project proposals, and discuss potential business opportunities.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and partners.
- Assist with RFPs and bids.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in geomatics engineering, or survey engineering, or equivalent education.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Provincial or Federal Land Surveyor (ALS, SLS, MLS, CLS) is an asset.
- Extensive construction project management experience in the surveying industry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure drawings conform to specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret information from survey plans, maps, and field notes.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements of construction related survey work.
- Ability to effectively transition survey and plan information into digital and/or paper survey plans and as-built deliverables.
- Comfort with the use of technology to improve processes.
- Strong ability to multitask and identify & change priorities when needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commitment to excellence, customer service, and professional development.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, along with the ability to seek out and develop new business relationships.
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to coach, discipline, and mentor employees.
