Project Manager / Estimator - Cabinets & Millwork

Phoenix Kitchenworks is an established custom cabinet and millwork manufacturer based in Kelowna. We have a long track record in high-end residential work and are expanding our commercial division, serving grocery, retail, healthcare and multi-family projects throughout the Okanagan.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to join our team.

Position Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for estimating commercial casework projects and managing projects through production, installation and close-out. This position also oversees residential project management, service orders and quality control.

The successful candidate will focus on estimating, project coordination, purchasing and site management.

Key Responsibilities

- Review shop drawings against architectural drawings and project specifications to identify errors, missing scope and incorrect material callouts prior to production
- Prepare material and hardware takeoffs and price commercial bids
- Source and purchase materials and hardware
- Prepare cost impacts for post-tender changes
- Issue work orders to the shop to maintain production schedules
- Coordinate site measurements and confirm clearances with general contractors
- Supervise installation crews and attend site as required
- Inspect completed work and resolve deficiencies
- Manage residential service orders through to completion
- Prepare and submit O&M; manuals and warranty documentation

Qualifications





Required

- Minimum 5 years experience in millwork, cabinetry or architectural woodwork, including shop floor experience
- Demonstrated experience with plastic laminate and commercial casework
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Experience preparing takeoffs and purchasing
- Proficiency with Cabinet Vision or comparable software
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation; willingness to travel to out-of-town sites

Preferred

- AWMAC / NAAWS Manufacturer Standards Exam certification
- Commercial estimating or bid preparation experience
- Lead hand or installation supervision experience
- Experience with grocery, retail or institutional casework packages
- Solid surface and countertop experience

Compensation and Benefits

- $72,000 - $77,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus of up to 20%.

The successful candidate can work independently, take initiative in identifying process improvements, and have the opportunity to take on additional responsibility as the commercial division grows.

Pay: $72,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
