Position Title: Project Manager / Estimator

Reports To: Owner / Operations Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Project Manager / Estimator to oversee commercial handyman projects from initial client consultation through project completion. This role combines project management, estimating, customer service, and team coordination to ensure every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will meet with clients, assess project requirements, prepare detailed quotes, schedule work, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and maintain excellent customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Key ResponsibilitiesClient Consultations & Estimating

- Meet with prospective and existing clients to discuss project needs and requirements.
- Conduct site visits and assess project scope, materials, labor, and timelines.
- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates, quotes, and project proposals.
- Explain pricing, timelines, and project expectations to clients.
- Follow up on submitted quotes and convert leads into confirmed projects.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ensure customers receive exceptional service from the first consultation through project completion.

Project Management
- Plan, coordinate, and manage multiple handyman and renovation projects simultaneously.
- Develop project schedules and assign work to technicians and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are met.
- Resolve project challenges, delays, and change requests efficiently.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company standards.





Team Leadership
- Coordinate and supervise handyman technicians, tradespeople, and subcontractors.
- Schedule daily work assignments and job priorities.
- Monitor workmanship and productivity.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.
- Foster a positive and skilled work environment.

Budget & Cost Control
- Track project budgets, labor costs, and material expenses.
- Order and coordinate delivery of materials and supplies.
- Review invoices and project costs for accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Assist with pricing strategies and cost management.

Quality Assurance & Safety
- Conduct job site inspections to ensure quality workmanship.
- Ensure all work meets company standards and customer expectations.
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.
- Address deficiencies and ensure timely corrections when required.

Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Update project management and scheduling systems.
- Track project status and communicate updates to management and clients.
- Prepare reports on completed projects, revenue, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in improving operational processes and workflow efficiency.





QualificationsRequired
- 3+ years of experience in project management, construction, renovation, home services, or a related field.
- Experience preparing estimates and quotes for customers.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with scheduling, estimating, and project management software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred
- Experience in the handyman, renovation, or construction industry.
- Knowledge of residential building systems and repair techniques.
- Understanding of local building codes and safety regulations.
- Project management or estimating certifications are considered an asset.
