New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support our client’s Community Clinical Informatics portfolio and the delivery of several initiatives focused on upgrading or replacing end-of-life technology solutions used to support community care.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the project team responsible for ensuring complex technology initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. This role will work across technical, clinical, operational, vendor, and leadership stakeholder groups and will provide end-to-end project management across integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communications, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of large, complex IT and healthcare technology projects.
- Develop and maintain project charters, project management plans, schedules, budgets, and supporting project documentation.
- Direct and manage project work while monitoring overall project performance, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Manage project scope, including requirements gathering, scope definition, work breakdown structures, scope validation, and change control.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including activities, sequencing, duration estimates, milestones, and dependencies.
- Manage project budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, and financial controls.
- Establish and manage project quality plans and ensure project deliverables meet required quality standards.
- Plan and manage project resources, including resource estimates, team development, allocation, and performance.
- Develop and execute project communications plans and ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
- Identify, assess, document,
and manage project risks, issues, mitigation strategies, and response plans.
- Lead procurement-related project activities and manage complex vendor relationships.
- Identify stakeholders and develop appropriate stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Facilitate collaboration across technical, clinical, operational, leadership, and vendor teams.
- Identify upstream and downstream impacts, dependencies, overlapping activities, and cross-project considerations.
- Develop explicit, well-considered options and recommendations to support project decision-making.
- Manage sensitive and challenging project situations while maintaining strong professional stakeholder relationships.
- Support integrated change control and ensure project changes are appropriately assessed, approved, documented, and implemented.
- Ensure project activities adhere to organizational standards, policies, methodologies, and expectations.
- Support project and phase closeout, including completion of required documentation and transition activities.
- Report to the Project Director or delegate and provide regular project status, risk, issue, schedule, and financial reporting.
Mandatory Requirements
- 8+ years of combined experience as a Project Manager, Project Development Officer, or Project Officer supporting large, complex projects.
- 4+ years of combined experience supporting projects involving BC Health Organizations such as VCH, PHSA, PHC, or the BC Ministry of Health.
- 1+ year of experience as a Project Manager on a large, complex IT-related project involving more than one BC Health Organization as a stakeholder.
- Hands-on experience in a senior leadership role supporting enterprise strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional active listening skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver clear messaging on complex topics to audiences at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment toward a common vision or goal.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to develop logical, well-considered, and justifiable options.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and real-world best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and challenging situations.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work across technical, clinical, and other project areas and identify upstream and downstream impacts, dependencies, and overlapping activities.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex vendor relationships.
- The consultant must provide their own Windows 11 computer and mobile device.
Preferred Requirement
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.
