Become an Indigenous Doula with Arrow Home, where your lived experience can create meaningful change for families in Victoria. Support new mothers with trauma-informed care tailored to their cultural needs.
This six-month part time contract offers the unique opportunity to work with Indigenous populations, assisting mothers with their emotional, physical, and educational needs post-birth. As a key member of the Arrow Home team, you will help families navigate this crucial period by providing dedicated in-home support, meal preparation, and practical advice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer culturally relevant support tailored to families
• Assist mothers with newborn care and adjustments
• Educate on comfort techniques in a holistic manner
• Organize parenting discussions and group sessions
• Participate in meetings and cultural development training
Requirements:
• Indigenous ancestry/identity is necessary
• Certification as a doula and BC membership
• 20 hours of training in specified areas
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Strong nurturing presence and exceptional communication
