Job Summary
CPR Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager / Project Coordinator to manage construction and restoration projects throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will coordinate projects from initial handoff through scheduling, procurement, construction, documentation, billing, and final closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project scopes, estimates, drawings, specifications, contracts, and customer requirements.
- Complete project setup and establish schedules, budgets, trades, materials, and required documentation.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, employees, equipment, and material deliveries.
- Maintain project schedules and actively follow up with trades and suppliers.
- Conduct site visits to review progress, workmanship, safety, deficiencies, and project conditions.
- Communicate with clients, property managers, consultants, adjusters, subcontractors, and internal management.
- Ensure projects are completed according to scope, specifications, building requirements, and company quality standards.
- Identify additional work and scope changes and prepare documentation for change orders.
- Obtain subcontractor and supplier pricing and assist with estimating and project budgeting.
- Review subcontractor invoices against completed work and approved purchase orders.
- Monitor project costs and identify budget overruns before they occur.
- Maintain complete project documentation including photos, daily notes, correspondence, approvals, change orders, purchase orders, and completion records.
- Coordinate inspections and permits when required.
- Prepare progress billing information and assist accounting with project invoicing.
- Manage project deficiencies, warranty items, completion documentation, and customer sign-off.
- Keep management informed of project status, delays, risks, financial issues, and customer concerns.
- Manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction, restoration, exterior construction, or project-coordination experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing and subcontractor coordination.
- Experience with roofing, siding, building envelope, windows/doors, framing, restoration, or general construction is highly desirable.
- Ability to read drawings, scopes, specifications, and estimates.
- Strong computer, documentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Alberta driver's license and ability to visit active construction sites.
- Experience with CompanyCam, Xactimate, Microsoft Excel, estimating software, or project-management platforms is an asset.
What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of projects. You should be comfortable making decisions, following up with trades, dealing professionally with customers, identifying problems early, and keeping projects moving without constant supervision. This is not strictly an office position; the successful candidate will divide their time between the office and active project sites.
