CGI Montréal is looking for a Project Manager / Scrum Master to oversee a portfolio of IT projects. In this role, you will act as a key partner between business and technology teams, transforming business needs into concrete solutions while contributing to project vision, stakeholder coordination, and delivery aligned with business objectives. Your future duties and responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned projects, including planning, coordination, and monitoring of activities in accordance with established standards
- Develop structured project plans, establish schedules and execution approaches, define milestones, and ensure optimal resource utilization
- Manage change requests, deliverable acceptance, and stakeholder engagement, including external vendors as required
- Develop contingency, action, or recovery plans to address unforeseen issues during project delivery
- Provide transparent and rigorous project reporting to clients and management regarding scope, budget, schedule, quality, and other key metrics
- Establish the governance required for project management, including steering committees, and ensure stakeholder involvement
- Assess project risks and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
- In collaboration with managers, build project teams and oversee their performance, including defining roles and responsibilities and resolving conflicts
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management standards and best practices
- Manage interactions with other client service groups and foster effective collaboration to achieve common objectives
- Communicate regularly with clients, partners, and vendors to ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, and according to defined quality standards
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation
- Manage change implementation while considering the political, cultural, and organizational realities of the organization
- Participate in incident and problem management processes to identify failures and resolve them with minimal impact on project delivery, while considering operational impacts
- Adhere to established standards and procedures, including change control and documentation requirements
- Support the adoption and continuous improvement of Agile practices
- Act as a facilitator in the planning and coordination of Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement sessions, and collaborative workshops
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as an IT Project Manager and/or Scrum Master
- Knowledge of PMI project governance and project management frameworks and methodologies
- Strong understanding of planning, execution, and tracking techniques related to schedules, budgets, risks, communications, stakeholders, and project performance
- Experience supporting Agile organizational transformations, particularly in Scrum, SAFe, or other recognized Agile frameworks
- Solid understanding of Scrum principles and practices, as well as major Agile scaling frameworks (Secure, LeSS, Nexus, or equivalent)
- Proficiency or strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, including product backlog management, work item tracking, Kanban boards, and iteration management
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Mural, Miro, or equivalent for workshops and team engagement activities
- Strong skills in conflict resolution, team engagement, and continuous improvement
- PMP certification is considered an asset
- Scrum certification is considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills in French (spoken, written)
Technical Expertise Specific technical knowledge may vary depending on the project. CGI is primarily seeking expertise in the following areas:
- Business transformation toward digital and smart city solutions
- Infrastructure, platforms, and telecommunications
- Geospatial services deployment
- Development and customization of technology solutions
- Business solution integration
- Information security and business continuity
- Transformation of IT management practices and business solution delivery
- Public sector procurement and tendering processes (RFPs)

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 70 000$ et 135 000$. This role is an existing vacancy.
