We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee structural and miscellaneous steel projects from award through fabrication, delivery, and installation. The successful candidate will coordinate with clients, engineers, detailers, fabrication teams, and site personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage structural and miscellaneous steel projects from start to completion.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, detailers, fabricators, and erectors.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, materials, fabrication, delivery, and installation.
- Review shop drawings and coordinate drawing approvals and revisions.
- Manage RFIs, change orders, submittals, and project documentation.
- Track material procurement and ensure materials are available according to the fabrication schedule.
- Coordinate fabrication and site installation activities.
- Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Identify potential delays, conflicts, or cost issues and develop solutions.
- Ensure work complies with project specifications, quality requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes.
- Monitor project costs and assist with invoicing, extras, and change-order pricing.
- Maintain accurate project records and closeout documentation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Project Manager in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, construction, or steel fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
- Understanding of steel connections, welding, bolting, fabrication, and installation.
- Robust project planning, scheduling, and cost-control skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with structural steel fabricators and erection contractors.
- Familiarity with CISC/AISC standards and applicable building codes.
- Experience with Tekla, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar construction/detailing software is an asset.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
