Position: Pulmonary Function Apprentice Technologist

Job Type: Temporary Full time position with the potential to transition into a Permanent Full-Time role upon successful completion of a 12-month training program and passing the registration examination.

Salary: $21-24/hour

Position Summary: We are offering a unique opportunity for on-the-job training to become a Pulmonary Function Technologist. This position is ideal for candidates eager to enter the healthcare field, providing hands-on experience in pulmonary diagnostics while working alongside experienced respiratory technologists in a clinical setting.

As an integral member of the Pulmonary Function lab, the Apprentice Technologist, responsibilities include performing various diagnostic pulmonary function tests on patients and cleaning and calibration of equipment under supervision of the technologist,



other expectations of the position such as attending lectures on theory of testing; preparing for registry exam and performing other duties that are consistent with the job classification, or as required.

Qualifications:

- B.Sc. in Human Physiology, Biology, Kinesiology, or student registry eligible for the Canadian Association of CardioPulmonary Technologist (CACPT)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable laboratory policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices
- Previous experience working with patients in a hospital or clinic environment preferred
- Current BCLS certification
- Cantonese and/or Mandarin strong asset

Schedule: 8-hour shift (Monday to Friday) Work Location: In person Rosedale Pulmonary Function Lab (Bloor St E & Sherbourne St)
