Tauber Music School

Winnipeg

Overview

Tauber Music School is seeking a warm, organized, and reliable individual to join our team as a Studio Host. This is a front-line role where you'll help shape the experience of students, families, and teachers as the first point of contact in our studios.

You’ll handle typical reception and light administrative tasks like taking payments, responding to inquiries, enrolling students, coordinating lesson changes, calling customers, and resolving or escalating issues as required. As our Studio Host, you should feel comfortable interacting with kids and people of all ages, enjoy meeting new people, and feel confident engaging in conversation.

The studio is quiet for much of the shift, so this role requires someone who can create positive energy and set a welcoming tone. Successful Studio Hosts stay visible at the front desk, greet people as they arrive, and proactively engage with students and families rather than staying behind the counter focused on the computer until someone speaks first. If you enjoy being social and can “turn it on” in a friendly, professional way, you will likely thrive in this position.

There are times that will require multitasking while maintaining both a friendly demeanour as well as close attention to detail. We’re looking for someone who can stay engaged and motivated during slower moments and take initiative when things get busy, creating a welcoming and professional environment no matter the tempo.

Schedule and Locations

We are currently hiring for shifts on weekdays from 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm:

- 2211 McPhillips Street
- 1099 Henderson Highway
- 1330 Portage Avenue
- 140 Meadowood Drive

We are looking for candidates who can commit to a consistent schedule from September through June. Our office operates year-round, including Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks (even when lessons are reduced),

so you may be scheduled during those periods as required. Access to a vehicle and willingness to work at different locations when needed is an asset. This is not a casual or on-call role. We are seeking reliable, longer-term team members who can commit at least through the end of the school year and who are interested in being part of our community.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet students, families, and teachers in a friendly, professional manner
- Take time to build rapport with students, families, and teachers by getting to know them and fostering a sense of connection and community

- Assist with registration, lesson scheduling, and outgoing phone calls as required
- Perform light administrative tasks as delegated by a supervisor or management
- Maintain a clean and organized studio including the front desk, waiting room environment and classrooms when required. Servicing the bathroom and any other areas of the studio that may need to be cleaned in rare cases when our cleaning services are unavailable or in the event of an accident
- Provide paid support at school events held on Sundays or holidays, including setup and front-line assistance at the annual Tauber Music Festival in June
- Stay attentive to the daily rhythm of the school and communicate any emerging issues, concerns, or observations to a supervisor or management

Who We’re Looking For

- Builds positive relationships with students, families, and teachers while maintaining professional boundaries and a solid sense of responsibility to the school
- Strong communicator and organized multitasker with good social skills
- Comfortable with computers and technology and willing to learn new tools as required
- Comfortable in a front-facing, social role and able to proactively greet and engage with families during slower periods (not a “head down behind the desk” position)
- A musical background is an asset, but not required. We welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about music, the arts, or children’s activities, and who bring a family-oriented mindset and a genuine interest in learning and participating
- A great fit for mature high school students, university students, those seeking a second job, retirees, or anyone looking to supplement their income

Compensation and Perks

- Wage: $16.40 to $17.00 per hour
- Consistent part-time and full-time work hours available
