Madoc
Clare McFaul LTC (Centre Hastings) LP, a 128-bed long-term care home, is an exciting new project that will be dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents in partnership with UniversalCare Canada Inc., our family members, valued employees, and community partners. Residents will be admitted in the Summer of 2026.
Our team is currently hiring for a new vacancy, a permanent full-time Recreation Aide.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:-Coordinates and plans recreation and leisure activities, communicates and schedules recreation and leisure programs, purchases supplies, and supports activity setup/clean-up, etc.
-Actively and effectively facilitates recreation and leisure programs.
-Provides support and supervision to residents during recreation and leisure programs.
-Supports effective and effective procurement and supply control procedures and completes programming documentation.
-Observes and reports any substantial findings and/or changes in a resident.
-Assists with meal service, as required.
-Porters residents and assists with safe lifts and transfers of residents, as appropriate.
-Respond promptly and appropriately to resident needs and concerns during recreation and leisure programs.
-Encourages resident participation in recreation and leisure programs, promotes social interaction and physical activity for all residents.
-Appropriately evaluates all recreation and leisure programs, supports continuous improvement for all recreation and leisure programs on an ongoing basis.
-Ensures compliance with organizational standards and all relevant regulations,
and/or legislative requirements and strategic initiatives.
-Participates as a member for assigned committees, attends meetings and educational sessions.
-Communicates with related Long-term care Health Agencies to promote coordination and/or planning long-term care services.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university or current enrollment in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in such a field or equivalent.
-Completion of Food Handling Certificate.
-Knowledge of recreation and leisure best practices and procedures.
-Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow instructions in English.
-Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when assisting residents, family members, and visitors.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong relationship building abilities.
-Proficiency with computerized documentation systems.
-Satisfactory vulnerable sector check and TB test.
