Role Description The Recreation Attendant is a full-time, on-site role based at Severn Lodge Resort in the Greater Barrie Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for setting up, organizing, and supervising daily recreational activities, including waterfront sports, indoor and outdoor games, and special events for guests of all ages.

The Recreation

Attendant helps ensure secure use of equipment and facilities, provides clear instructions, and actively engages guests to create a fun, inclusive, and welcoming environment.



Day-to-day duties include monitoring activity areas, maintaining and organizing recreational equipment, assisting with Kids Club programming, supporting evening entertainment or group events, and responding to guest inquiries. The role works closely with other resort departments to deliver a seamless guest experience and may include weekend, holiday, and evening shifts during peak seasons.

This job is for the May 2027 - September 2027 season.

Qualifications

- Experience in recreation, hospitality, or customer service, with the ability to engage guests of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including clear verbal communication and a friendly, professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or facilitate group activities, games, and events in a safe and inclusive way.
- Comfort working around water and outdoor environments; previous experience with waterfront or sports activities is an asset.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple activities and priorities during busy periods.
- Reliability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain, is highly beneficial.
- Previous experience in a resort, camp, or similar setting, and familiarity with Muskoka or Georgian Bay tourism is an advantage.
