The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).

Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Director, Health and Safety, you will be a strategic leader responsible for supporting regional operations as well as the Center for Support and Development (CSD) division across the province of Quebec. Operational sites, including the LaRonde Mining Complex, the Canadian Malartic Mining Complex, the Goldex Mining Complex, as well as future and development projects, fall under the guidance and support of the H&S; Regional Manager.



This role ensures compliance with Quebec's Occupational Health and Safety legislation and promotes a proactive safety culture aligned with Agnico Eagle's core values of Trust, Respect, Equity, Family, and Responsibility.

More Specifically, You Will Be Responsible For

- Promoting a zero-injury safety culture across all Quebec operations.
- Leading and coaching site prevention teams while ensuring alignment with company values and standards.
- Providing guidance and support to senior leadership on occupational health and safety matters.
- Promoting leadership, engagement, and accountability in health and safety.
- Ensuring the sustainability, quality, and continuous improvement of the Supervision Formula program.
- Overseeing the establishment and understanding of a critical control management system related to major hazards.
- Ensuring compliance with Quebec mining regulations and Agnico Eagle's Health &
- Safety policies and standards.
- Staying informed of current and proposed occupational health and safety legislation in Quebec.
- Maintaining and enhancing Health &
- Safety management systems, including incident reporting, risk assessment, and trend monitoring.
- Acting as a key resource for RMMS, TSM, VPSHR, the Cyanide Code, and other organizational commitments.
- Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and safety metrics.
- Developing and implementing health and safety strategies for Quebec operations that align with corporate objectives.
- Collaborating with the Corporate Health and Wellness Manager to guide industrial hygiene and medical surveillance programs (e.g., air and noise sampling).
- Supporting emergency preparedness, crisis management, training, and emergency response simulations across Quebec operations.
- Assisting sites with Bowtie risk assessments and ensuring effective management of critical controls.




- Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of ICAM incident investigations.
- Supporting the implementation of corporate Health &
- Safety programs and initiatives (e.g., Supervision Formula, ICAM, Major Hazards).
- Ensuring that contractor management programs are effectively established and maintained across regional operations.
- Leading the CSD Health &
- Safety Committee and serving as the primary point of contact for Health &
- Safety matters related to CSD offices and employees.
- Promoting synergy among sites regarding safety initiatives and training programs.
- Supporting the development of recent Health &
- Safety training programs aligned with organizational and corporate strategies.
- Monitoring compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Supporting the development of Health &
- Safety departments, competency validation, and succession planning initiatives.
- Ensuring the ongoing professional development of Health &
- Safety professionals.
- Collaborating with corporate and site leadership, contractors, and external organizations.
- Actively participating in external industry organizations (e.g., CIM, QMA, APSM, Catamine, CNESST) to develop partnerships and strengthen industry networks.

What You Need To Succeed

- Hold a certificate, college diploma, or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in health and safety within the mining industry, including experience in both underground and open-pit operations.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Quebec mining legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
- Proficiency in French is required, as the role involves collaboration with sites and stakeholders in Quebec where French is the primary language.

Your Work Schedule

- Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday;
- Workplace: Possibility to work in one of Agnico Eagle's offices closer to your residence in Rouyn-Noranda or Val-d'Or. This position requires frequent travel to the company’s sites and projects throughout Quebec.
