Responsibilities
- Create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that support early childhood learning and growth
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety at all times
- Implement individualized care plans for children with special needs or disabilities, incorporating strategies from special education practices
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to promote a positive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and daily activities using computer systems
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum enhancements and classroom improvements
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, including transitions, meal times, and rest periods while demonstrating strong time management skills
Experience
- Proven experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or childcare facilities
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Bilingual abilities in English and French are an asset to support diverse communities
- Robust communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children and families
- Proficiency in computer operation and organizational skills to maintain accurate documentation and classroom records
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively
- Prior classroom experience that showcases excellent time management and organizational skills
