Role Description The Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) will provide immigration advice and representation on a wide range of Canadian immigration matters, including temporary and permanent residence applications, family sponsorships, work and study permits, and citizenship files. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, assessing immigration options, preparing and reviewing immigration documents, drafting submissions to immigration authorities, and managing case files from intake through decision.
The role involves staying current with Canadian immigration legislation, regulations, and policy updates, and collaborating with lawyers, consultants, colleagues, and support staff to ensure timely and accurate case processing.
The RCIC will also contribute to improving internal processes and may assist with online assessments and initial case evaluations. This is a full time hybrid or fully remote position.
Qualifications
- Active membership in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) as a Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).
- Strong knowledge of Canadian immigration law and related immigration issues, with the ability to interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and policy guidelines.
- Experience handling a broad spectrum of immigration issues, including applications for visas and other Canadian immigration programs (an asset).
- Demonstrated expertise in general immigration matters, including permanent and temporary residence, family sponsorship, work and study permits, and citizenship pathways (an asset).
- Completion of the education, licensing, and professional requirements necessary to practise as an RCIC in Canada.
- Excellent immigration research, drafting, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong client communication skills, including the ability to explain complex immigration requirements and processes clearly and empathetically.
- Ability to manage multiple files, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Professional proficiency in English; French language skills are an asset.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and the professional standards applicable to RCICs.
