Transform maternal care as a Registered Midwife with the Government of Yukon. Deliver culturally safe, high-quality midwifery services to support pregnant individuals and newborns in Whitehorse. In this full time position, you will collaborate with the Department of Health and Social Services to ensure optimal care for Yukoners.
Your role will involve building a strong midwifery team, teaching, and providing clinical oversight based on evidence-based practices. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery and meet licensing requirements for Yukon's midwifery practice. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide postpartum and neonatal health care services
- Collaborate within an integrated health team
- Maintain a practice environment focused on quality
- Teach, coach, and mentor junior staff members
- Facilitate care within diverse community settings
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery
- Registered Midwife status in Canada
- Knowledge of risk management and evidence-based practices
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Rural midwifery experience is an asset
