Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) / Registered Nurse (RN) – Part-Time

Centre for Pulmonary Rehabilitation (CPR) – North Bay, Ontario The Centre for Pulmonary Rehabilitation (CPR) is seeking a motivated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing clinical team in North Bay.

CPR has been providing respiratory care in Northern Ontario for over 20 years. We are an RRT-owned organization and a Ministry of Health Vendor of Record for Home Oxygen and Respiratory Devices. Our services continue to expand and currently include home oxygen, CPAP, pulmonary rehabilitation, Respirology clinics, respiratory research, and other specialized clinical programs.

We are looking for a nurse who enjoys a diverse role and is interested in developing expertise in respiratory care. This position will work closely with our Respiratory Therapists and physicians and may also have the opportunity to participate in our infusion clinic services as this area develops.

Primary Responsibilities

- Provide clinical care and patient education related to home oxygen therapy and CPAP
- Complete patient assessments, follow-up visits and clinical documentation
- Support patients participating in pulmonary rehabilitation
- Assist with Respirology clinic days and other specialized respiratory programs
- Participate in clinical research activities as required
- Provide patient education and chronic disease self-management support
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians, Respiratory Therapists and other healthcare professionals
- Opportunity to work within our infusion clinic, depending on experience, training and scope of practice
- Assist with community and home-based patient care when required
- Participate in on-call coverage as required

Qualifications





- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as an RPN or RN
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong assessment, communication and patient-education skills
- Comfortable working independently as well as within an interdisciplinary team
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
- Experience in respiratory care, chronic disease management, home care or ambulatory care is an asset
- IV therapy and/or infusion clinic experience is considered a strong asset
- Experience with iron infusions or other outpatient infusion therapies is an asset
- CPAP, home oxygen or pulmonary rehabilitation experience is an asset; training can be provided to the right candidate

Position Details

- Part-time – one position available
- Primarily Monday to Friday
- Clinic hours are generally 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Flexible scheduling
- Mileage paid for approved work-related travel
- Some home/community visits may be required
- On-call coverage may be required
- Opportunity for the role to grow as CPR expands its clinical services

Because this is a diverse position, the ideal candidate doesn’t necessarily need to come from a respiratory background. We are particularly interested in finding the right fit for our team and are willing to provide respiratory-specific training to an RN or RPN who brings strong clinical skills and an interest in expanding their scope of experience.
