CAMH is Canada’s largest academic health sciences centre dedicated to mental health and addiction. Research in Schizophrenia and related disorders has been a historic strength that continues into the present, particularly given that CAMH has always served a large number of inpatients and outpatients suffering from these disorders.
Research in the Schizophrenia Division is focused on diverse interests, including clinical treatment trials, metabolic health, digital interventions, brain imaging, genetics and health services research.
Reporting To The Director, Clinical Research And The Chief, Schizophrenia Division, The Schizophrenia Division Is Currently Seeking a Full-time, Temporary Research Manager To Support On-going Research Activities, With a Focus On a Large Multimodal Cohort Project Investigating Trajectories Of Outcomes And Recovery Among Individuals With Schizophrenia And Related Disorders. The Manager Will Oversee All Research Study Operations, Including
- Overseeing and managing all aspects of the study, participant recruitment and enrollment
- Collaborating with study investigators and stakeholders
- Managing human resources including recruitment, hiring, training, and daily supervision of staff
- Providing fiscal management, monitor key performance indicators and supporting the reporting obligations associated with the research project
- Ensuring adherence to REB and regulatory requirements
- Supporting in grant writing and submission
- Supporting division-wide initiatives, including centralized participant recruitment, community engagement, knowledge translation activities
The successful candidate will work with the Research Operations, Services and Support Office to ensure alignment of research operations, meet and maintain institutional, regulatory standards and department requirements. As a key member of the team, the successful incumbent will be expected to work collaboratively on projects with cross functional teams. The incumbent will champion and lead initiatives that support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable policies, procedures and legislation. This position is located at 1051 Queen Street West, with travel between sites, as necessary.
Qualifications You will possess a Masters degree in a clinical research related field in the mental health domain (e.g. psychology, neuroscience,
epidemiology, etc.) and at least three (3) years of clinical research operations experience.
The candidate will have demonstrated experience in hospital/grant accounting and reporting as well as proven analytical, organizational, conceptual, and decision-making skills in a dynamic fast paced environment. Specific experience in clinical trials is an asset.
Experience managing staff is required and management in a unionized environment is an asset. The candidate will possess superior leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal. Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language are an asset. Candidates will be proficient in the following software applications: Access, Excel, RedCap, or other database software.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary is competitive and based on experience, with a hiring range of $112,495.94 – $140,619.93 per year.
- Employees in this role may progress within the full pay range of $112,495.94 – $168,743.91 per year
