RF Design Engineer – Space Communications

Location: Nova Scotia, Canada

Salary: CAD $130,000 - $160,000 + Benefits

We're partnering with an innovative space technology company developing next-generation satellite communications systems for mission-critical applications.

As part of a growing engineering team, you'll take ownership of RF system performance across the full development lifecycle, working on advanced communications architectures that will operate in demanding real-world environments.

What You'll Be Doing

- Design, analyse and optimise RF communication systems for space-based applications
- Perform link budget analysis, modulation studies and system-level performance assessments
- Support RF integration, testing and validation activities
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across hardware, systems and mission engineering
- Evaluate component and subsystem performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement
- Contribute to architecture decisions and technical trade studies

What We're Looking For

- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or a related discipline




- Experience working with RF and communications systems
- Robust understanding of link budgets, modulation schemes and system-level RF analysis
- Experience using RF test equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers and signal generators
- Knowledge of SATCOM, wireless communications or aerospace/defence systems
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems and work with a high degree of ownership

Desirable Experience

- Space, satellite, aerospace or defence communications systems
- RF integration, verification and validation
- Antenna systems and propagation analysis
- Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies
